Pavilion Earth which specialises in providing recycled, biodegradable and re-usable promotional products has been keeping a close track of which products are searched for, enquired about and bought. The results contained a few surprises. The top 5 came out as
1.Recycled plastic pens
Made from recycled polyester bottles the pen came out as most popular although for purchases although they were often grouped with starch based bioplastic pens on enquiry. The bio plastic pen contains a non-biodegradable core which might impinge on it green credentials.
2.Recycled paper notebooks
The industry argues as to whether it better to use recycled paper or whether the growing of trees for pulp in a sustainable way is better for the environment. Consumers have a perception that these recycled books are the best way forward.
3. Re-useable straws
This one was a surprise to us, but the numbers bear witness. Picture of turtles having consumed plastic straws seem to have a significant impact here and the stainless steel re-useable straw that fits to a key ring seem to hit the mark
4. Cotton Lanyards
One of the biggest selling promotional products has always been the exhibition lanyard so no surprise that a lanyard made from biodegradable cotton should be popular
5. Wheat straw mugs
A new take on the mug are those made from either sugar or wheat starch – this versatile set of bio-polymers can be used as a plastic replacement and help reduce the plastic usage.
